“This is our fourth year in undertaking CSR activity of this nature, and before undertaking each CSR activity, a SGS survey team is dispatched into each geographical areas countrywide to assess recipients’ genuine needs, then a recipient selection process is undertaken, priority given to: activity that leads to recipient community's ability to pursue continuous learning and create a wide-coverage and sustainable usability; activity that places special emphasis on education sector in order to help community reach long term self-reliance,"

"In undertaking this CSR activity, the company's employees are given the opportunity to engage in the selection of recipients: provincial educational institutions that lack teaching-learning equipment and materials, school building, and basic infrastructure, and propose them to a Recipient Selection Committee for approval. Through this employee-initiated selection process, Ban Nong Dut School in Nakhon Phanom had been selected as this year recipient because of its lack of a budget for extension of school ethics-integrity center and construction of school bathroom facility. After recipient is selected, the school's director Kitti Wachum, was contacted and informed of the availability of the funds and 50 SGS volunteers needed to support the construction of the School’s Ethics - Integrity development center and school bathrooms facilities for schoolchildren and community," says Jirote Na Nakorn.

In appreciation of the contribution, School Director Kit Wachum, said  "We are grateful to SGS (Thailand) Co. Ltd., for the Baht 300,000 funding and 50 SGS volunteers, contributed towards building School's Ethics - Integrity Center and bathroom facilities, intended to be used as a community center for both villagers and schoolchildren, as well as the Baht 50,000 worth of scholarship and learning mediums generously provided to the schoolchildren.

Chanon Naleng, a 5th-grader of the school, had also given an appreciation speech, saying that " In the past, over a hundred schoolchildren had to take turn using the bathrooms that are old, broken, and inadequate. With SGS contribution, my friends and I now have access to more hygienic bathrooms. We are so happy, and wish to thank you SGS (Thailand) Co.
