(BKK, Thailand, September 22, 2016) In August 2016, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) published the new issue 3 of BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution. SGS, as the first CB attended the TTT class held in London on 5th September 2016, shared their experience in food storage and distribution audits with BRC team in this class and also will share the changes of this new issue to its client for their effective implementation of the new issue of this standard.

Currently this standard is more mature, so there are significant changes for this new issue. Examples of the key changes are new facilities grading and audit options. These changes made this standard to have protocol in line with some other BRC standard, such as BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.

Basically, internal audit activity is the key activity implemented by the company to ensure the completeness of implementation according to standard requirement is in place. This activity, if effectively done, can also support the company’s confident in being certified at the desired certified-grade. By having internal auditor and implementer do understand about the standard requirements’ interpretation and correct application, the company can successfully achieve the new issue certification.
