SGS Thailand CSR team help make a difference at Baan Lay Koh School
Recently, a dedicated SGS Thailand’s CSR team of 18 volunteers had spent three days and two nights, taking part in their long-awaited project - renovating a school building at Baan Lay Koh school, a very remote small school of only 61 students and 2 teachers, situated on the western edge of Thailand (about 655 km and 100 wheel turnings from Bangkok).
After a nine-hour travelling on pave and unpaved road, the team, led by managing director, Jirote No Nakorn, rolled up their sleeves and tirelessly got down to the nitty-gritty of the basic construction works that they have never done before such as mixing and poring cement for making school floor. School children and teachers also had their share of construction work and lend their hands in the entire renovation work.
It was a very rewarding CSR activity and a great team-building exercise. The team was very satisfying to see school children’s smiling faces and the difference at the end of the day.
